Moor Poets is a Dartmoor-based group of writers ranging from established poets to beginners who are tentatively putting pen to paper for the first time. It arose from Pat Fleming's inspiration to produce a contemporary anthology of poetry written by people living on or near Dartmoor.
Founded by a Tarka Country Millenium Award Moor Poets Volume I was published in July 2003 and a second volume Was launched on 2nd December 2005. Both Volumes I and II are available through bookshops, using the following ISBN numbers.
Vol I - ISBN 0-9545474-0-3. Vol II - ISBN 0-9551114-4; 978-0-9551114-0-2.
In Summer 2008, Uncharted, a CD of twenty members' readings was released. This is a studio recorded set of 37 poems on a wide range of subjects.

Moor Poets organises writing workshops at Moorland And other venues in Devon for people of all abilities with the aim of encouraging creative writing right across the board. Workshops have also been held for prisoners in HMP Dartmoor, some of whose work appeared in both Volume I and Volume II.
