Moor Poets is a Dartmoor-based group of writers ranging from established poets to beginners who are tentatively putting pen to paper for the first time. It arose from Pat Fleming’s inspiration to produce a contemporary anthology of poetry written by people living on or near Dartmoor. Funded by a Tarka Country Millennium Award Moor Poets Volume I was published in July 2003 and a second volume was launched on 2nd December 2005. Both Volumes I and II should be obtainable in bookshops.
  • Vol I - ISBN 0-9545474-0-3.
  • Vol II - ISBN 0-9551114-4; 978-0-9551114-0-2.
If there are any difficulties please contact Jennie Osborne (jennie@jennieosborne.wanadoo.co.uk).

Moor Poets organises writing workshops at moorland venues for people of all abilities with the aim of encouraging creative writing right across the board. During 2004 the inclusion of visual arts in different ways was a great success. Workshops are also held for prisoners in HMP Dartmoor, some of whose work appears in both Volume I and Volume II.
